Meet the fabulous teachers for the 2022 Sewing Conference!  

Laurena Ludwig


As a lifelong resident of Florida, growing up along the Gulf of Mexico in Clearwater, the love of sewing and especially quilting, are first and foremost in my retirement years living now in the beautiful Crystal River Mini Farms.  I joined FSS in 2018 to attend Conference with many of the members from the Nature Coast group

Margaret Travis


Margaret Travis is the Designer in Chief of Eazy Peazy Quilts pattern company.  She is a board member and founder of the Crossroad Stitchers - East and West Chapters in Davenport, Florida.  She has taught at FSS Conferences for years.

  


   

FRANCINE KIND

 

  • Francine is a charter member of FSS and the first State Secretary.  She was a high school English teacher, now retried and free to play with her sewing and embroidery toys.  Francine holds 7 Martha Pullen licensings, including heirloom, serger, and children's clothing.


Sue Spinicelli 

Sue is a founding member of FSS and serves as the State President.  She is a Certified Fit Nice Instructor and Louise Cutting and remains one of the most sought after instructors.

TRENA BENNETT

I started sewing when I was very young by learning first from my mom and then my grandmother.  I went from sewing and crocheting doll clothes at age 8 to making my own clothes in my early teens. From there I apprenticed with an accomplished dressmaker at a bridal shop. I love making and creating beautiful things. I now live in Beverly Hills, Fl with my husband. I have 2 daughters.  



 

DORIS BRINKMAN


Doris Brinkman is married, has four children, eight grandchildren, and many others she counts as her own.  She retired after 30 years with Sprint.


Doris enjoys sewing, quilting and teaching quick and easy projects to others.  She is the Leader of the Sew Wild Chapter of FSS.  She has worked at Material Girl Quilt Shop for fifteen years and co-hosts semiannual retreats and vends quilt shows.



Kathiann Crocker


Kathiann is a licensed Martha Pullen instructor.  Born and raised in Los Angeles, CA with her first payment plan at the age of 13 was for her Featherweight. She has taught at the Singer Company and altered bridal gowns throughout college. Kathiann's specialty is heirloom sewing.

Dot Welch

I learned to sew as a young child from mom, 4-H and then majored in Home Economics in college.  I taught sewing construction as a 4-H Agent during many sewing camps for teens.  I now teach classes at Beyond the Stitches, in Crystal River. I enjoy sharing my knowledge of sewing and love to see the creativity of others.

Carol Henry



Carol has been a Professional Quilt Teacher for over 30 years.  She has Juried Quilts shown at Paducah Quilt Shows, written a book on Quilts featured on Viking TV Show, and her work has been featured in Miniature Quilt Magazine. She is also a Quilt Judge.
